Recently had a witness who seemed to have a characteristic of Tourette syndrome where he would insert what sounded like the word quot;turn onquot; in the middle of a sentence, sometimes multiple times throughout a sentence. It was very difficult to take down his testimony.
Now Im about to work on the transcript and would really like another court reporters take on this. I understand that everything a witness says should be in the record, but Im starting to feel a little cruel with how this transcript is going to turn out -- and the witness is reading and signing! :(So if I keep the blurted words, is this how it should be done? (see below)Here is an excerpt:
A. No. I believe -- turn on -- that when we got there that next day -- turn on -- that she said there was going to be an investigation and they would let her know -- turn on -- what had happened -- turn on -- nurse and stuff -- turn on -- it was just at that time I was still shook up -- turn on. I just tried block a lot of it out. HELP
